U2 plan tour for early summer

U2 debut track at Radio 1 gig

BonoU2's new album, No Line On The Horizon, is released on 2 March

New U2 track Breathe, from the band's forthcoming album, has had its live debut at an intimate Radio 1 gig.

It was part of a special three-song Live Lounge set on Jo Whiley's mid-morning show, which also included vintage track Beautiful Day.

Bono also revealed that the band would be touring in "early summer" and were working on cheaper ticket prices because of the recession.

The band's new album No Line On The Horizon is out in the UK on 2 March.

The Irish rockers opened the BBC Radio Theatre set in London to rapturous applause with Get On Your Boots - the first single from their new record.

Bono told the assembled crowd: "This is a great honour. This is the first time we've played these songs to people, so we hope we don't screw it up."

Ticket prices

Jo Whiley quizzed the U2 frontman on the band's plans for touring and he revealed they had something new in mind.

He said: "We've got something very special planned, something we've been working on for many years, a whole way of trying to do shows outdoors and make them very intimate.

"We're trying to work on some cheaper ticket prices because this is the recession. We're also going to have some very expensive ticket prices because rich people have feelings too!"

The band also said they wouldn't be playing Glastonbury this year but didn't rule out a future appearance.

Bono added: "I know lots of people who love music want us to play that. It's something we're working up our whole life to do. I think that we can commit that we really, really want to do this."

The gig was streamed live on the Radio 1 website and included an audience made up of lucky recipients who applied for free tickets online earlier in the week.

No Line On The Horizon is U2's 12th studio album.

It's their first release since 2004's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb which sold more than nine million copies worldwide and scooped eight Grammy awards.

hahahaha dude, get a life. im actually gutted they put vocals in it!!! the instrumentation alone gave a certain level of mysticism that could be read in so many ways thus adding to the songs beauty. lyrics take the shine off it by reducing that mysticism!!! anyway, good song regardless and good album.

New Order - Dreams Never End

My promise could be your fiend
A given end to your dreams
A simple movement or rhyme
Could be the smallest of signs
We'll never know what they are or care
In it's escapable view
There's no escape so few in fear
Give in a changing value

To be given your sight
Hid in a long peaceful night
A nervous bride for your eyes
A fractured smile that soon dies
A love that's wrong from your life and soul
A savage mine had begun
Hello, farewell to your love and soul
Hello, farewell to your soul

Now I know what those hands would do
No looking back now, we're pushing through
We'll change these feelings, we'll taste and see
But never guess how the him would scream
But never guess how the him would scream

Fats Domino - When My Dreamboat Comes Home

When my dreamboat, comes home
and my dream no more will roam
I will meet you and I'll greet you
when my dreamboat comes home.

Moonlit waters will sing
cause that tender love you'll bring
we will be sweethearts, yes forever
when my dreamboat comes home.

When my dreamboat, comes home
and my dream no more will roam
I will meet you and I'll greet you
when my dreamboat comes home.

Moonlit waters will sing
cause that tender love you'll bring
we will be sweethearts, yes forever
when my dreamboat comes home.

Blinded Colony - Contagious Sin

Mankind is a source of many mysteries
One of them is the sickness that we all bare

A frightning virus, extremly contagious
And every human child is infected

Taste, see, feel and smell
Nothing can stop this plague from expanding it's useless to try
We stand by and look down as you try to save yourself with prayers,
you're doomed, you will die

Your sins are saved for the next generation
And the Bible says that sins will make you burn
Human souls in neverending agony
The contagious sin will spread like fire

Sinners are not hard to recognise
According to the curch every human is a faliure
People trapped in their false believes
A holy crusade fullfilling all the lies

Taste, see, feel and smell
Nothing can stop this plague from expanding it's useless to try
We stand by and look down as you try to save yourself with prayers,
you're doomed, you will die

Your sins are saved for the next generation
And the Bible says that sins will make you burn
Human souls in neverending agony
The contagious sin will spread like fire

Eidemic supremacy
The world is drowning in filth
It's their punishment
It's the contagious sin!
It's the contagious sin!
It's the contagious sin!

Uriah Heep - First Touch

I dreamed of all
The wonders in the world
And lovers that I knew
I saw so many good things
At one time
Mountains of emotion
Coming right into view

When I arose from my bed
I got that warm glow
At the back of my head

First touch, feel the power
Hear the thunder over me
First touch, out of nowhere
See the future over me

Then I dreamed about
The tenderness we shared
And how it makes us feel
Like every first encounter
That we have
When I think I must be dreamin'
You tell me that it's real

And here you are in my bed
I get that warm glow
At the back of my head

Bellamy Brothers - World's Greatest Lover

WORLD'S GREATEST LOVER
(David Bellamy)
sung by the Bellamy Brothers

E
She's a little old-fasioned
She's a little new way
She's got her own kind of passion
& I'm glad to say
A
That I'm a lucky guy
She's standin' by
E
Can't you see, lucky me
B
& I really only wanna say
B7 E
No one on this earth does what she does for me
Uh uh uh

Verse 2:
She looks so innocent
Sippin' champagne
Or gettin' her new dress wet
In the pourin' rain
But when she takes me home
& we're all alone
Can't you see, lucky me
& I really only wanna say
I can't begin to say what she does for me
Uh uh uh

CHORUS:
E
She's the world's greatest lover
& the way she holds me I know there's no other
A
She's that kind of girl, a passionate girl
E
She's the world's greatest lover
B
& I'm never gonna let her go
B7 E
No I'm never gonna let her go away
Uh uh uh

Verse 3:
You know, she looks so convincing
Walkin' down the street
Incognito, lookin' prim & sweet
But she is dynamite, ready to ignite
Just for me, lucky me
& I really just wanna scream
But I keep it a secret how she fulfills my dreams
Uh huh huh

(chorus)

(repeat 1st line of chorus & fade, with female voice speaking in background)

"Do I look like Ken Dodd?" - Moz

11 February 2009 - Morrissey played tracks from his forthcoming new album at the BBC Radio Theatre in London's Broadcasting House this evening, to a crowd of competition winners, hardcore fans and those lucky BBC staff who managed to wangle a ticket - which were like gold dust.

Well, what do you expect when you have Morrissey up close and personal in such an intimate venue, with such fantastic sound.

As host Mark Radcliffe called it: "The art deco spleen in the Rococo intestines of Broadcasting House."

Recent Radio Theatre shows include Radiohead, REM and - ah hem - Take That. None of which this reporter has been able to get into. This time however, I wrestled fellow members of the 6 music news team to the floor for my ticket as I wasn't going to miss out.

Kicking off proceedings with footage screened onto the stage backdrop, that has become customary at Morrissey gigs of late including Shocking Blue videos, New York Dolls live on a German TV station, pictures of unfortunate glam-rocker Jo Braith and a very old Anthony Newley film - the one with the ballerina."This is like An Audience With... but do I look like Ken Dodd?"  - MorrisseyMorrissey saunters onstage bang on 9pm - this is going out live on Radio 2 - in a pink shirt and jeans, and with a casual "Welcome to our soiree" launches into Something Is Squeezing My Skull from Years of Refusal and it's a stormer.

It's the beginning of a night that showcases new tracks of what Radcliffe calls: "A genuinely terrific new album" with the Little Drummer Boy-style drumming on Mama Lay Softly On The Riverbed and the melancholy rumble of One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell, the new album sounds fantastic.

But before even this dedicated audience can become distracted by too much new material, Morrissey says: "Some songs for those who couldn't, shouldn't and musn't" before racing through This Charming Man, a track which 6 music news' Matt Everitt, who was sitting next to me, called the 'Lust For Life version,' which it was, quite literally.

Current single Throwing My Arms Around Paris had the crowd on it's feet aswell as That's How People Grow Up and The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores.

Tonight's audience are hardened fans and as a reward for their dedication, Moz treated them to Seasick, Yet Still Docked from Your Arsenal and a truly beautiful version of Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself from Vauxhall and I.

With a quick plug of the reissue of his fifth solo album from 1995, Southpaw Grammar, which is due out in April, Morrissey also treated these fans to a version of Reader Meets Author - which one guy raved about to me afterwards with a tear in his eye.

An emotional night for this crowd with Morrissey looking and sounding as good as ever. Dry, funny and quite sweaty - as he sings in Something Is Squeezing My Skull: "It's a miracle I've made it this far" - we are thankful Morrissey...

Magazine - My Tulpa

I suspect you ain't so sweet
as the lust I'm concealing
my skin will crawl back home to Ma
I've lost my way in my feelings

You always collect your fists
when my shadow falls upon your hands
you're just giving body heat away
but they say you're a nice enough young man

I want to see you
don't you wont to see me ?
I'm full of questions
you're full of mystery

You can touch yourself anytime
you can touch yourself anytime
so wretched - you are so fetching
stop smiling at me - treat me unpleasantly

You've got the whole world in your wardrobe
your furniture's made to injure me
my skin will crawl back home to Ma
when our souls mingle uneasily

I want to see you ...
