Elvis and Monroe items to be sold

Marilyn Monroe in 1949The umbrella used in this 1949 Monroe photograph is up for $16,000 (£10,000)

Possessions that belonged to Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe are to be auctioned in Las Vegas.

Personal effects including Monroe's receipts for alcohol and Presley's pill bottles are among the lots up for sale.

Monroe's bath robe - purported to be the last item of clothing that she wore - has a guide price of up to $6,000 (£3,745) at the auction.

The event, which includes a whole host of celebrity memorabilia, takes place on the 26 and 27 June.

Minutiae

A number of items from Monroe's final home in California, including two bricks from the house and furnishings are also among the lots.

Medical paraphernalia from Elvis Presley's doctor is also listed in the Julien's Auctions catalogue, including a nasal douche and his leather bag.

A chunky lapis stone ring that belonged to the musical star is expected to fetch $20,000 (£12,500).

A number of photographic images of actress Monroe are in the sale, along with a fur stole - a garment which became closely associated with the screen star.

The minutiae of her life, including signed cheques and a newspaper bill, will also be made available to bidders.

Sade - Like A Tattoo

Sade - Like a tattoo

Enormous how she sings it - even if it's rehearsed. So much true passion coming through - wonderful, thank you :-)This is one of my very all -time favorite songs. from the very first time I heard it. Only a pity that here at the end they keep simply alternating between the two chords, while in the rest of the song, there are these magnivifient changes (even though the trumpet solo is good).... I'll go for the beginning of this version :-)thumb up!

Weird Al Yankovic - the checks in the mail

Well, hey how ya doin' have a seat have a drink
Boy it's good to see you, what can I say?
Oh, sorry gotta run we'll get together again
Say, what was your name anyway?
Well we're working on the problem we'll get back to you soon
But don't try to call me I'll be in a meeting every afternoon
For a year maybe longer keep in touch
Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day

(Chorus)
The check's in the mail - Hey! you're beautiful
Don't ever change you know what I mean
My girl will call your girl
We'll talk it through lunch
Or leave a message on my machine
So baby won't you sign on the dotted line
I'm gonna make your dreams come true
The check's in the mail, would I lie to you?

Well hey wait a minute what's the matter hold on
You want me to fork over the loot?
You say you hate my guts you wanna take me to court
And you got yourself a lawyer with a three-piece suit?
Well I'm proud to say you're not the only critic of mine (yeah)
So if you wanna sue me I'm afraid you're gonna have to wait in line
Take a number thanks for calling who loves you baby
Don't forget to read the fine print.

(Chorus)

Oh, trust me!

The check's in the mail - Hey! you're beautiful
Don't ever change, you know what I mean
Why don't you leave a message with my girl
I'll have lunch with your machine
So baby won't you sign on the dotted line
I'm gonna make your dreams come true
The check's in the mail, would I lie to you?

Andres Calamaro - HORIZONTES

Horizontes Andr?s Calamaro

Puta madre...

Thin Lizzy - Banshee

Instrumental

(Hed) P.E. - Fallen

It?s my life
And I have always done exactly what I wanted
What else can a dog do
It?s not right
To take advantage of somebody who trusts you
Pendejo, yeah I?m talking to you
It?s not every day
You meet somebody who believes in you
Stands by you
Without making demands on you
Just let me live
I just want to believe
Just let me do my thang
Come and get me
CHORUS
You cannot break me down
Say it again
You cannot break me down
Please believe me
Time is running out
Say it again
Your time is running out
Please believe
Ask not for whom the bell tolls
All your walls are closing in
Please believe
This house of flesh and blood has fallen
It?s my life
And I?m a wild out
Until I bow out
Yes, I?m in this game
Until I foul out
It?s not right
You always worried about what everybody?s thinking
You worried they might figure you out
It?s not every day
You go to work
Go to sleep
Get paid
In between
Get lifted
Get laid
Just let me live?
CHORUS
(Push it all away)
(Who the fuck are you?)
Move on?
CHORUS
It?s my life?

London After Midnight - Your Best Nightmare

Long after midnight, on a night like this
I'd sit by my blacklight and dream of your kiss
pulsating music filled my room and my head
and I dreamed what it'd be like to have you in my bed

I'm your best nightmare

And then it happened, you were in my arms
your lips on my throat- your hands on my, on my...
two bodies together the intimate sin
the pain and the pleasure could do mortals in
how could you know what I'm thinking of
to me lust can be as beautiful as love
here tonight, your pure heart and soul
untainted passion should have no control

She asked me if I...
I told her the truth
I said "I'm sorry it takes me longer than you"
she smiled and blushed and continued to grind
and promised to make me go out of my mind

returning her promise she came to a halt
licking my lips I tasted her salt
then she sat up and gasped and clutched at her breast
I thought she was coming- I'd never have guessed that
as she grew pale, as white as a flower
she collapsed to the floor and was dead in an hour.

I'm your best nightmare

Jose Manuel Soto - Tu Seras Mi Amanecer

A Friendly love-in

Friendly Fires create euphoria at The Forum
30 April 2009 - Dressed in suit trousers and shirts, the dapper trio took to the stage of Kentish Town’s Forum and were greeted by the rapturous applause of adoring fans.

Friendly Fires are midway through a mammoth, sold out headline tour of the UK and tonight proved their live show is quite deserved of the praise the band has been getting.

In the last year they’ve received an NME Award, the Best Breakthrough Southbank Award, are billed for all of the big festivals this summer and have recently been handpicked to support Blur as part of their comeback tour.

The singer, Ed MacFarlane, admitted before the show they are feeling the burn a bit from so much gigging, but at no point did this show.

His vocals were spot on, as was Jack Savidge’s rhythmic drumming and Ed Gibson’s slick bass playing.

Teamed with a spectacular array of retro disco lights and strobes, punters were treated to a relentlessly thrilling set of unique, classic songs which weaved seamlessly into each other and gave you no chance to stop the bop.

An extra bassist and a brass section, consisting of a saxophonist and trumpet player, further enhanced the sound.

Photobooth incited everyone on stage to partake in a mass jam, as did Climbing On Board, which saw Ed, Ed and Jack temporarily lose their instruments for wood blocks and the like, as the crowd’s rendition of the chorus resounded around the venue.

The gig floor turned into a full on love-in of dancing – and I don’t mean foot tapping with occasional head nods; we’re talking full on, arms in the air, fists of glory, full body moving kind of dancing.Couples were declaring their love, friends were hugging in joy as they jumped up and down and the atmosphere was electric as Friendly Fires weaved their way through a fairly swift set of their debut album tracks.Even the hardest of hearts couldn’t help but be enticed to partake in some hip-shaking, taking the lead from frontman Ed MacFarlane and his Mick Jagger-esque moves. They kick-started the show with Lovesick, and the singer told 6 Music the song has a drop that’s had a significant effect at all their shows.“There are bits of songs that people really react to,” said MacFarlane. “People love the break of Lovesick, the break of In The Hospital, Paris and On Board have been working really well live, and White Diamonds as well.”The band recently toured in Mexico, and the singer told us before the show it was quite overwhelming the reaction they got out there, so many miles from home.“It was very strange to discover that our music has had an impact in a country like that,” he explained. “It was really good. I almost felt like Morrissey for a day. It was quite crazy. I hear that he’s massive in Mexico and it was really surreal.”Paris was the stand out moment. It had the balcony up on their feet, exhilarated as the tune culminated with a glitter canon – a token, perhaps cliché gesture but never fails to make the crowd leave with smiley faces. All of their verses have such a groove that draws you in, then the choruses bombard you with such memorable hooks that are so immediate you can’t help but engage with them.If their first album can instil such excitement from a packed out Forum, the world should wait with baited breath as to what genius Friendly Fires pull out of the bag next.SetlistLovesickJump In The PoolSkeleton BoyIn The HospitalWhite DiamondsStrobeOn BoardParisEncoreEx –LoverGeorgie Rogers

Ludov - Sete Anos

Abra?ada ao seu caderno espiral
Pouco antes do inverno
Era frio mas fazia sol

Quando veio j? pegou na minha m?o
Foi t?o bom te encontrar ali no meio
Da multid?o

Te conheci
E morri de rir da tua risada
Mal percebi e al?m de ti
L? n?o via mais nada

Nosso amor j? sabe ler e escrever
J? ? grande o bastante
Pra deixar a gente viver

Te conheci
E morri de rir da tua risada
Mal percebi e al?m de ti
L? n?o via mais nada

Nosso amor j? sabe ler e escrever
J? ? grande o bastante
